No cottage on the water is complete without a dock. Unfortunately they can be hard to build and it’s important that they are built properly. Luckily Emmerson Lumber is here with the materials and know-how to create your dream dock that will be sturdy for years. We offer many different kinds of docks such as floating, floats with wheels and aluminum-framed leg docks. If transporting the materials of your dock is a problem, take advantage of our delivery service.

Floating Docks — Plastic Floats

We carry the Techstar line of foam-filled plastic floats. No wood touches the water, which minimizes water-logging, and assembly is simple. Various float types are available; Techstar also makes plastic ladders.

Techstar Floats with Wheels

Drop by to see these new floats starting May 2012. The 24" wheels are foam filled and the acel is 1-7/8" aluminum. With the wheel built in, there is 575# of flotation per float. Each float has 6 mounting holes and is compatible with aluminum or wood docks.

Aluminum Framed Leg Docks

Strong, safe & lightweight

The Fendock system has been around for many years and is great due to its light weight. It comes as a modular kit — wooden panels can be removed in sections to make handling easier. We recommend cedar lumber for the decking, purchased separately. Some assembly is required.

Pipe Leg Docks: great for those who don’t wish to tie a boat up, and ideal for grassy or muddy bottoms. The legs are adjustable and can be used to make long walkways to a floating dock.

The Order Process

Ordering your dock

Most people order in May, June or July — long weekends are especially busy. Many customers now accept weekday delivery, which works out well. We have stock docks, but most customers want some accessory installed, so give us a week or so to set this up. You can order by phone or e-mail, but many like to see the docks, so a visit to the store is a good idea. We provide a computer-generated, accurate quote for the dock and any other items. Payment is made before delivery; deposits can be put against the sale.

The dock delivery process
The Delivery Process

Delivered to your landing — free in Haliburton County

This is how we get the dock into your lake. The landing must be suitable for large trucks. With the owner’s permission we sometimes deliver to a marina or neighbour’s access point. We do not install docks, but can recommend third-party installers. Note how well the dock floats and is easily towed by your boat. We can ship docks up to 12'×20'. Most deliveries are within Haliburton County; we will deliver outside the county for a fee.
